چکیده

Here we present the end-to-end QoS mechanism in 3G-multiaccess network environment. As multi-access wireless WLAN and wired xDSL wideband multi-access technologies has emerge and become more popular a need for interoperability with different technologies and domains has become necessity. There is also a need for end-to-end QoS management. We show a scenario where the UE-GGSN connection is covered by RSVP and RAN network part uses partial over dimensioning and real-time controlled ATM queuing. DiffServ covers WLAN-Core QoS and radio interface between WLAN AP and WLAN UE uses IEEE’s 802.11e. Our interest is to find out how well 3G traffic classes can survive in different traffic conditions in the end-to-end case.

A Quality of Service Support Module (QASM) for a Wireless Multi-Segment Integrated 3G Network

Deployment of IP multimedia services with guaranteed Quality of Service (QoS) is a primary requirement for Beyond 3G (B3G) systems. In this paper we propose a new architecture to support Internet QoS-sensitive services (e.g., video-conferencing, voice over IP, interactive gaming), thus providing users with end-to-end QoS guarantees. In particular, the paper discloses a new hybrid Intserv/Diffse...

A Fuzzy Based Three Color Meter/Marker for Diffserv Networks (RESEARCH NOTE)

Differentiated Services (Diffserv) which was proposed by Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), is a scalable and robust model for providing the end-to-end QoS. In the Diffserv networks, metering mechanisms are used to measure traffic stream. The single rate Three Color Meter (srTCM) [1],which was proposed by IETF,‏ meters an IP packet stream and marks its packets either green, yellow, or red....

Third generation mobile systems like the Universal Mobile Telecommunication System (UMTS) are designed to provide a wide range

A distinguishing feature of the Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) is the support of different levels of quality of service (QoS) as required by subscribers and their applications. To provide QoS, the UMTS backbone network needs an efficient QoS mechanism to provide the demanded level of services on UMTS network. We implement a model to investigate end-to-end quality of service (...

RSVP Extensions for Real-Time Services in Wireless Mobile Networks

Currently, the RSVP model, which is efficient resource reservation in the fixed endpoints, becomes invalid under host mobility. In this article, we investigate the problems of standard RSVP in providing real-time services in wireless mobile networks. We also observe carefully how to interoperate IntServ services over DiffServ networks, and how to map IntServ QoS parameters into a wireless link....

RSVP Extensions for Seamless Handoff in Heterogeneous WLAN/WiMAX Networks

Providing a seamless handoff for QoS connections in heterogeneous wireless local networks (WLANs) and worldwide interoperability for microwave access (WiMAX) networks is crucial. The handoff delay is one of the troublesome issues that users are facing in the heterogeneous WLAN/WiMAX networks. Many mobile users still cannot obtain the network resources they need when employing real-time services...
